Lars Eriksson – Guitar

This is me

I am a curious person who likes to try new things. Grew up in the countryside in northern Sweden with lots of freedom and love. On a farm there are always different projects to deal with, something I have taken with me in my professional life as a project manager. Trained early as a “leisure leader” but soon slipped into computers and have worked most of my life with IT.

In my teens I met Jesus and was saved at a traditional tent meeting, was baptized shortly after and have been a disciple of Jesus ever since. At the same time, I picked up the guitar and learned how to play. Have been playing in a number of bands and also a lot in our church, but with DYNATHON, everything has fallen into place. Here I can evolve as a musician, a person and a Christian.

My influences

I grew up with Deep Purple, ABBA and Swedish “Dansband” in an unholy mix. However, what has followed me all my life is hard rock and blues. I like music with feeling and meaning. It doesn’t always have to be the text that says something, just as often it’s a feeling in the music that speaks directly to you. If you check my playlists, almost everything I listen to is guitar-based music. There is something in the expression of the guitar that touches me.

There are so many great guitarists and it is impossible to list them all, but I would still like to mention a few that I have been inspired by: Eric Clapton, Garry More, Steve Morse, Larry Carlton, Mark Knopfler, Walter Trout and Robben Ford.

I believe that music is something that brings people together and that God uses music to speak in a special way. With God there are the most amazing harmonies imaginable, we can only try to convey it to the best of our ability.

The equipment you choose to play your music with is very personal and what I use might not suit you. For me it’s interesting to see what other people use when creating music so here is a list of my gear.

Now the important thing is to play, not chasing the perfect sound. Most guitars today is great, go pick one you like and just start playing.
